The Court of Appeal recently heard a case discussing the idea of legalising Euthanasia in certain circumstances.
In Conway v. The Secretary of the State of Justice (2018 ECWA) – the England and Wales Court of Appeal has rejected a terminally ill person’s request for a blanket ban on the Suicide Act 1961 and that it is in breach of s.4 of the Human Rights Act 1998.
The Court states that there poses a real risk that legalising assisted suicide could have a serious detrimental effect on trust between doctors and patients.
